In the evening, 12 year old lynne Harper walks to the emlementary school at the RCA Frader bas in Clinton, Ontario where her and her family lived. She saw Steven Truscott and rode on his handle bars of his bike on County road.

Steven Truscott is interviewed by police and air force personal 9:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. 5, and 7 p.m.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. Harpers body is found in Lawsons Busch, and they perform autospy on Truscotts body.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Truscott is taken into custody. at around 10:15 p.m. he is examined by doctors.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Truscott is charged under the Juvenile Delinquents Act with Harper’s murder, and is seized with the clothing Truscott was wearing the day the police woke up.

Magistrate Dudley Holmes of the Juvenile and Family Court orders Truscott be tried as an adult.

Truscott’s application for leave to appeal Magistrate Holmes’ decision is denied.

Truscott’s trial takes place in Goderich, Ont., before Justice Robert Ferguson and a jury. Seventy-four witnesses testify.

The jury returns a verdict of guilty, with a recommendation for mercy. Judge Ferguson, as required by law, sentences Truscott to be hanged.

The Ontario Court of Appeal unanimously dismisses Truscott’s appeal.

The federal cabinet commutes Truscott’s death sentence to life in prison.

The Supreme Court of Canada denies Truscott’s application for leave to appeal.

Truscott is transferred to Collins Bay Penitentiary in Kingston, Ont.

The Supreme Court of Canada hears testimony from 26 witnesses, including Truscott, who did not testify at his trial.
