First broadcasting job: DJ at KFH AM & FM, Wichita, KS. And, my career was off and running. And yes, that's me in the fuzzy argyle sweater with the RCA console and the cart machines (TapeCaster). The microphone in that studio was an RCA 77. The entire station was outfitted with classic vintage microphones and that created the KFH sound.

Wichita Attorney David Link was there as I interviewed Joplin in her dressing room at Henry Levitt Arena, Wichita State University. I was a DJ for KFH-Radio at the time. Joplin vomited on me during the interview and later accused me of stealing her black cape off of the stage. Police arrived. It was the highlight of my budding journalism career.

Became an actor on the road. Cast in New York by H&H Productions in The Impossible Years, I performed month-long runs in Raleigh, NC, Memphis, TN, and Oklahoma City. Howard Douglass Wolfe was an entrepreneur from Virginia who created the Barn Dinner Theatre franchise in 1961. He's known as the "Father of Dinner Theatre." He's also credited with developing the "dissapearing stage" -- retracting both horizontally and vertically. His franchise paid well, also.

Commercial Actor. 1972 was the first year that Mr Coffee was marketed. Spots were filmed on the Upper West Side of NYC. The star was Mr Coffee pitchman, Joe DiMaggio. DiMaggio wasn't really nice. He wasn't nice at all, actually.
