    Dale Hackbart brought charges against Charles Clark for injuries resulting from a play in a 1973 Broncos vs. Bengals game. Trial court held that football is beyond the realm of imposition of the law for tortious conduct and that plaintiff assumed the risk inherent in the game. The reviewing court reversed trial court's judgment, allowing professional players to bring tort claims from in-game injuries.
