    Court case that ended racial segregation and "separate but equal" schools. This case also allowed for children with disabilities to attend public school alongside those without disabilities.
  • Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

    Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    Court case resulting in the right to free public education for children with disabilities. This case was important because it allowed children with disabilities to attend school.
  • Rehabilitation Act

    Rehabilitation Act
    Prohibits discrimination of disabled individuals in any federal program. This is an important act because federal businesses and programs cannot turn down individuals with disabilities because of those disabilities.
  • Lau v. Nicholas

    Lau v. Nicholas
    Court case ensuring schools provide special language programs for English learners. An attempt to make the opportunity to learn more equal for English learners.

    Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act- A law put in place to ensure funding for assistive technology services and training's for individuals with disabilities.

    Individuals with disabilities Education Act- Mandates children with disabilities receive free and appropriate education across multiple disciplines.

    Act promotes success of all children. Federal government provides funding to public schools for improving standardized test scores each year.
