  • Education of the Deaf Act

    This act calls for a residential facility for post secondary training as well as education for those individuals who have hearing impairments (are deaf) in order to prepare them for employment.
  • Individuals with Disability Act

    Individuals with Disability Act
    This particular act,also known as the Education for All Handicap Children Act, controls how all states and certain businesses provide services for special education children with disabilities. This act also mentions the educational needs of those children with disabilities, from birth to age 18 or 21, depending on the disability.

    The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997
    There was a re-authorization of IDEA, and this was sought to be a new chance to review, to fortify and improve IDEA having a better chance to educate children with disabilities allowing them reach a quality level of education that they need and deserve. To achieve this, Congress had to make sure that the curriculum would be available as well as aiming for a focused and learning environment and reducing the amount of paper work that was unnecessary.

    This act being named "the most significant legislation ever passed" by the National Council on Disability, the ADA Amendments looked over the true definition of "disability" and said it to be more allowing of impairments that considerably limit a major life activity.
