The purpose of Daylight Savings Time is to make more use out of daylight. This is done by moving clocks ahead one hour. This takes the extra hour of daylight that would normally occur in the morning, when people would be sleeping, and moves it to the evening to allow people to do more activities after work during the summer hours when the weather is nice.
