    Christopher Columbus
    Chrisopher Columbus Discovers America, 1492Chrisopher Columbus asked many countries for a sailing voyage. None of them where willing to accept do to a war with the moors. Finaly, in 1492 Columbus got an 'ok' by the spanish. He was supposed to find a new way to India/Cathay. Columbus had an idea (not knowing about North and South America) that if he sailed west, he would hit Asia. His ship hit the Bahamas and discovered the Americas.

    Pineda
    Pineda was sent out at about the same time as cortes. Pineda's goal was to find a water passage to Asia. He maped out the coast of Florida, Texas, Lousiana, and etc.Pineda and cortes where said to have met in Mexico where Cortes stabbed Pineda in the eye! Pineda was said to be killed by Indians in Texas.

    After Colombus' voyage, many people were inspired. One of those people was Cortes. Cortes' goal was to find lots and lots of gold. He was to sail in the direction of Columbus' voyage. Cortes orginally landed in Cuba and the spanish were proud and asked Cortes to come back. Cortes defied this though and set sail anyways. Hehit land on New Spain (current day Mexico). He found the Aztecs and there cities and was shocked. Cortes conquered the aztecs and stole approximeitly 99 tons of gold.

    De Vaca

    De Vaca was an explorer whos goal was to find gold where Pineda maped out. They where dropped off at Florida, but left with the mean indians.They had to make a new boat and sail to Cuba. They shipwrecked in Galveston and traveled north west hoping for help.De Vaca became well known with the indians and was a medicine man. He was found 8 years after the shipwreck.

    Friar Marcus and Esteban

    De Vaca said that there were 7 cities of gold. Esteban was with De Vaca so he is supposed to lead them to the 7 cities of golf while Friar Marcos is supposed to convert Indians on the way. Estabon is killed by the zuni indians. Friar Marcos said that he saw one of the 7 cities of gold, yet it was really fools gold.

    Moscoso

    Moscoso's job was to get any gold that was left over in the places that the spanish have explored. Moscosco entered East Texas and cruely abused and tortured the indians. He cut there feet and hands off, he burnt them alive, and more bad things. Moscosco decided he disliked Texas a lot and left. Moscosco and Coronado both told Spain that Texas was useless causing Spain not to touch Texas for another 150 years!

    Coronado

    Coronado was to find the city of gold, Cibola. Friar Marcos leaded him too the city that he had seen. After finding out there was no gold there he captured a man named Turk and told him to lead him to another city of gold. After Turk led Coronado to another fake city, so Coronado strangled Turk. Coronado discovered the Grand Canyon and the Palo Duro Canyon.
