    He was looking for golds and riches to bring to his queen. Spain had just went to war the Moors and needed money. He tried a new waytoIndia and stopped in America. He found lots of gold and Native American. this was important because they had lots of gold to sell for money and lots of Natives to use for slaves.

    Pineda was the first person to map the coast from Florida to Texas. this was important because Spain had a map of the coast and could now move along the coast and now where they are going.

    The purpose of the journey was to find any wealthy cities , this was causeb by the rumors of De Vaca. Esteban was killed by the Zunis in Hawikku. Fray Marcos claimed to have seen one of the seven cities of gold or Cibola.

    Coronado searched for Cibola and Quvera. He captured an Indian named El Turco and used him as a guide. Coronado made the Turk dig his own grave and strangled Turk. He discovered the Grand Canyon and the Palo Duro Canyon.

    The original leader of the expedition was De Soto. De Soto had the fever and died. His men buried in the Mississippi so the Indians wouldn't know. Moscoso discovered What today is the Mississippi river.
