    HFHSA helped to bridge community divides in Mmamelodi during the Kenneth Kaunda Work Project where
    28 houses were built.

    In September NBA players and coaches partnered with HFHSA for a build day sponsored by Pagliuca.
  • 2010

    In April the HFHSA new look website was launched with links to social media pages, and at the SANGONeT
    conference the HFHSA Facebook page won first place in the category ‘Best Use of Website for Online Fundraising.

    In June HFHSA hosted a National Youth Build engaging about 2400 young South Africans to build 24 new
    homes for families in desperate need of shelter in Mfuleni, Orange Farm and Umgababa.

    In August 3375 volunteers partook in the biggest Women Build HFHSA has ever hosted. The project built 45
    houses in 5 days across South Africa.
  • 2010

    In September the annual Desmond Tutu Building on Faith Event demonstrated the power of God to change
    lives: those of the 11 families served in the build and those of the volunteers.
  • 2007

    In May Nobel Peace Prize recipient Archbishop Desmond Tutu visited a HFHSA build site in the Mfuleni
    community near Cape Town, to thank more than 100 volunteers from the US, Great Britain, South Africa and India
    who had gathered to build 12 homes as a part of the Desmont Tutu Community Build.
