    Songhai and Mali were rival empires who went out for each other. When Mali was weakening Songhai took the chance.

    Moroccan Versus Songhai

    After their attack on Mali, Moroccan used this to their advantage. They attacked Songhai and were victorious.
  • Period: Jan 1, 1400 to Jan 1, 1500

    Emperor and Son

    Sunni Ali was Emperor until 1492, when he died. His not-Islamic son, Sunni Baru became Emperor. People feared him as he wasn't Islamic.
