    The Middle Passage was when African's were kidnapped and forced on to boats that brought them to the West Indies.The people involved were the African's being kidnapped and the Europeans. These voyages took a long time on average three to four months and they had very bad living conditions. They did this because they were going to make these people slaves.     Fugitive Slave Cause
    They were an act that were a pair of federal laws that allowed for the capture and return of runaway enslaved people in the U.S. This event involves enslaved people and was taken place in Pennsylvania. This event/law took place because it forcibly made citizens to assist in the capture of runaway slaves. This act impacted history because it led to many slaves going back to slavery and no freedom when they thought they were in the clear.

    The Underground Railroad was a secret network of safe places for slaves to try to escape to the north.The people involved were slaves and people that didn't support slavery. The people that owned these places did not believe in slavery and wanted to help slaves to freedom. These places were located in the border states. This impacted history because it showed that things needed to change and that people were doing things to help the slaves to their freedom.

    Nat Turner's Rebellion was when a group of slaves were done with being slaves and attacked and killed their masters and their families. Nat Turner was already free but came back to kill him.This took place in Virginia and this happened because of the frustration the slaves had.   • Dred Scott Case

    Dred Scott Case
    Dred Scott's master sold him to a new master (John Emerson) who moved from St. Louis, Missouri to Wisconsin Territory which was a free state. Then John Emerson (master) moved back down to St. Louis, Missouri. The court denied his freedom because black people didn't have the right to go to federal court. This sparked outrage and soon the Scott family got their freedom. This impacted history because it showed how passionate some people were about slavery.

    The compromise of 1850 was an act that consists of 5 laws passed in 1850 that dealt with slavery and territorial expansion. This bill attempted to resolve disputes over slavery and get more new territory to add to the United States. This event took place in California and included many politicians. This event impacted history because it allowed the U.S. to own more territory and expand its land into California which had gold and enriched the country as a whole.

    Kansas-Nebraska Act/Bleeding Kansas
    On May 30th, 1854, the Kansas-Nebraska Act repealed the Missouri Compromise, created 2 new territories ( Kansas and Nebraska) and allowed popular sovereignty. Soon after there was an conflict called "Bleeding Kansas" from the proslavery and anti-slavery groups argued to change or pass the bill because it would allow slavery in the once free states. This caused war and lots of violence. This showed the divide in the US and how the country was breaking apart.

    John Brown was a man who didn't like slavery and wanted it to come to an end. In Harpers Ferry, Virginia John brown started a revolt in attempt to destroy the institution of slavery. In the end he wasn't successful because the slaves wouldn't join him in his attempt. This took place because he wanted to stir an uprising about slavery and make it end.     The Emancipation Proclamation was an order directed by president Lincon during the Civil War that all people held as slaves shall be free.This event involves Lincoln and all the slaves because he has now freed them.This was officially signed in Washington D.C. and impacted the south as well.This event took place because Lincoln believed that slaves should be free and should not have to be treated like this.This impacted history because if it wasn't for Lincoln, slavery would be around longer.
