    Dred Scott was an enslaved african american that was moved north for 12 years. Where he thought afterwards when he was moved back south that he was a freeman. So he sued for his freedom something that no one would ever do especially a slave. His case made it all the way to the supreme court where they found that he will never be free and never be a citizen. He was set free by his owners son but lived only 9 months of freedom.
