Isaac T. Hopper, a Quaker, began a system for hiding and aiding runaway slaves in 1787. This is what started the Underground Railroad. March 20th is the first day of spring, and spring was the safest time to of the year to escape, therefore March 20, 1787 will be the start date. The end date

    North wanted Missouri to be a free state.South wanted it to be a slave state.. But the south already had slaves in the missouri territory. It ended up making the 36 30 line, and territories that wanted to be a state above the 36 30 line had to be a free state and states below the 36 30 line got the oppurtunity to be a slave state. In addition missouri joined as a slave state and maine joined and became a free state which still held a balance.

    The liberator was a abolistionist newspaper made by William Lloyd Garrison who wrote about slavery and why it should be stopped. Freddrick douglas also worked on this with him but he'll eventually quit and make his own paper called the north star.

    Nat turner was the leader of the rebellion, led a group of 60 - 70 slaves, there first attack was at Travis's Plantation where turner was a slave. And he killed travis's whole family, In the end a total of about 60 plantation owners and family members had been killed. Only a few slaves were freed from prison the rest were found guilty and excuted including Nat Turner. a lawyer named thomas grey interviewed him and made a book called nat turners confessions. (the facts might be true or wrong.)

    The Dred Scott case is what offically destroyed the missouri compromise and was about a slave named dred scott who sued for his freedom because he was living in wisconsin for 12 years. He lost because he was property and wasn't even really allowed to sue anywasys which outraged the north.

After the southern states seceded Lincoln didn't see them as their own nation and had no worry but the fort needed supplies so he told the SC"s govenor that he was sending them supplies and their president (Jefferson Davis) told him to attack it which they then do.
