Jan 1, 1901 Scott, Shakleton and three other men attempted to walk to the South Pole and were unsuccessful. Jan 1, 1907 Shakleton almost reached the South Pole on a journey of his own. Jan 1, 1911 A British trip to the South Pole was led by Scott. He got there second. Jan 1, 1912 Scott passed away on the way back to his ship. Jan 1, 1914 On December 8th Shakletons crew reached the Weddell Sea. Jan 1, 1916 Shakleton leads a rescue to South Georgia Island to get help for his men.
