  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The proclamation of 1763 was a point in time where it created a line known as the "proclamation line" this line separated the British colonies near the Atlantic Coast from the American Indian lands. The reasoning for the Proclamation of 1763 being so important is because the line promised freedom, stopped settlement, and angry colonists.
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act
    This was an act passed that would regulate currency and would completely wipe out the colonist's paper currency still in motion. This helped shape the American Revolution by creating tension between the colonies and Great Britain.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The sugar act was a point in time when Parliament would tax things such as sugar and also molasses. These items were imported from American Colonists brung into Britain. Colonists were upset because they needed this for essentials and had to pay taxes on it which made it difficult. The sugar act in this case helped the American Revolution by stopping smuggling which would help the economy.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This was a point in time when colonists were forced to pay taxes. They had a stamp on items such as newspapers and playing cards that you would have to pay taxes on. This helped shape the American Revolution by creating the slogan/ Argument: taxation without representation.
  • Quatering Act of 1765

    The Quartering Act of 1765, was a time point when colonies were required to provide housing to British men in Barracks, which were also provided by the colonies as well. They did this because of how low on money everyone was and how prices went up. This shaped the American Revolution by people getting tired of this and wanting to go against the act.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory act was an act to repeal the Stamp act. This caused Parliament to come out and say they could make new laws binding to the American colonies under any means necessary. This helped shape American Revolution by having better security of dependency and also asserting authority.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    This was an act by the British Act of Parliament which brought new taxes and new regulations to help pay for or fund the British colonies in America. They would tax the imported goods to American colonies. This helped shape the American Revolution by prices being entirely too high to withstand and this caused boycotting of British goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    During this time taxes were very unfair to people all around the area of Britain. People said that the taxes proves the lack of representation that American had. So a patriot mob took it upon themselves to go riot among the streets. They ended up killing several colonists. They threw sticks, stones, and various missiles. This helped shape the American Revolution by it furthering the fight for independence.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was a political protest in Boston, Massachusetts also caused by the unfair rule of taxes American colonists began to get very angry at the British for imposing the "taxation with representation" slogan. The American colonists took it upon themselves to dump 342 chests of tea which was imported by the British into the harbor. This helped shape the American Revolution by also wanting at least 13 colonies wanting to fight for independence.
  • Coercive Act

    Coercive Act
    This was an act that was passed to punish the American colonists for the doing of the Boston tea party. This helped shape the American Revolution by it ultimately changing the government and centralizing British authority.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act granted emancipation to the catholic, French-speaking settlers of the province. This combined British and French civil laws. This helped shape the American Revolution by saying this was intolerable and this was pushed toward revolution
  • Quatering Act of 1774

    Quatering Act of 1774
    This was also a time era when colonies would have to open houses to the British soldiers. The difference between these two would have to be the act allowed royal governors rather than legislatures to find homes for the British. This helped shape the American Revolution by helping shape the well-being of people.
