    The Stock Market crash took place on what people call "Black Tuesday", which was on October 29, 1929. The Crash left millions broke and the country in very big trouble.
  • Roosevelt 1st Election

    Roosevelt ran for president in 1932. Roosevelt swept the nation to a victorious election with 472 electoral votes to 59.
  • CCC

    CCC
    The CCC was part of Roosevelts "New Deal" plan. The CCC was created in 1933 to provide an organization where people without jobs can go work for little but livable money.
  • Social Security Act.

    Social Security Was made in 1935 as a program to help the elderly people support themselves after being unable to work. Social security is still used today in the United States.
  • Germany Breaks the Munich Pact

    On September 20, 1938, Germany Broke the Munich Pact. The Munich pact was an agreement between the Nazis and the Allied nations to try and prevent more war. Germany breaks this by having a small war with Czechoslovakia because hitter was trying to Annex them.

    The Korean war was mainly between North and South Korea. China got involved when the fighting got to close to its boarder. The United States got involved to aid south Korea in fighting communism. The was gained and lost nothing other than troops for both sides.

    Brown v Board was a supreme court case. This case ruled that the "separate but equal" decision from the Plessy vs Ferguson case was unconstitutional and inherently unequal.
  • Vietnam war

    The Vietnam war, was a war between North and south Vietnam. North Vietnam wanting "one Vietnam" and that Vietnam to be Communist. South Vietnam aided by the U.S. was against Communism and didn't want to have their country run that way.

    on December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give her seat up to a while person on the bus and move to the back. Parks was later arrested and taken to jail.

    The Martin Luther King House Bombing was in 1956 and was an act of retaliation by segrogationalists due to the success the of Montgomery Bus Boycott.

    Sputnik was the name of the first every satellite to go into orbit. Sputnik was launched by Russia during the cold war. The launch of sputnik was what started the space race.

    The sit-ins were a non violent protest led by black people during the civil right movement. Black people would peacefully sit in places where they were not allowed, protesting the fact that they aren't allowed in.

    Freedom rides were during the Civil Rights Movement and they aimed to integrate public busses in the south. Throughout the 1960s black men and women would ride busses through the south, sitting where they wanted on the bus.

    The Berlin wall was a barrier around Berlin made of cement to separate people geographically and ideology. The wall was built in August 13, 1961 around the city of Berlin.

    Freedom summer marked the summer in 1962 where 5.3% of African Americans were eligible to vote in Mississippi and at the time thats huge.

    The Cuban missile crisis is one of the scariest event for the U.S. during the cold war. Russia began to bring nuclear missiles to the country of Cuba. Cuba isn't far off from the United States Giving Russia the capability to Nuke the US.

    Medgar evers was murdered on June 12, 1963. Evers was black man affiliated with the NAACP whose president was also assassinated.
