Ozie Powell's rape charges get dropped but is sentenced to 20 years after pleading guilty to assaulting Bialock. Olen Montgomery, willie Roberson, Eugene Williams, and Roy Wright's rape charges are dropped.

Alabam's Supreme confirms the sentences given to Norris, Andy Wright and Weems in June. But July Governer Graves changes Norris' death sentence to life imprisonment.

Haywood Patterson escapes from prison.

Haywood Patterson gets arrested by the FBI in Detriot. The Governor refuses to release him back to Alabama. So Alabama gives up on trying to return him bakc to them. In December Patterson gets charged with murder after a barroom brawl.

In September of 1951 Patterson is convicted with manslaughter and gets sentenced to 6-15 years in prison In August Patterson dies because of cancer.
