Saul, David, and Jonathan Timeline

Saul is Born

1079 BCE

Israel's first mighty king is born to the least greatest. Saul redeems himself quickly, but later, just as quickly he turns to the worse.

Saul becomes first King

1046 BCE

Against better judgement, Israel chooses a man over God. Even though God wasn't happy, He still gave Israel a good king.

Saul unites the tribes

1046 BCE

Under his rulership, Israel is finally united. Israel is quick to prove it's strengths and weaknesses.

David is born

1040 BCE

The man after God's own heart is born to Jesse. He is the least of his brothers, but again God proves to redeem.

Lost God's blessing

1030 BCE

Saul makes a sacrifice without Samuel. Indeed, it is more important to obey than sacrifice.

Jonathan is born

1019 BCE

David's future friend is born, with a heart very few match. Jonathan is someone we should all aspire to be.

Jonathan fights

1015 BCE

Jonathan fights the Philistines with his armor-bearer. This just proves are freaking awesome Jonathan.

Saul dies in battle

1004 BCE

He doesn't want the Philistines to humiliate him. But really, there wasn't any point, because they found him anyway.

David becomes king

1004 BCE

After Saul dies 'naturally' David claims the throne meant for him. Thus begins a time of righteousness.

David Conquers Jerusalem

987 BCE

Because every good King has a city to live in and rule. This finally finilizes it.

David's mess with Abinidab

985 BCE

Abinidab kept the Ark of the Covenant for 20 years. Which might sound like a huge pain, but he was immensely blessed for it.

David Brings back the Arc of the Covenant

985 BCE

Brings back the Arc of the Covenant and parties hard. Michal gets mad at David for dancing in his underwear, which results in her having no kids.

Solomon is born

985 BCE

The smartest man ever, is born from David and Bathsheba. Under sin, God redeems the child.

David's affair with Batsheba

980 BCE

David impregnated Bathsheba and murdered his friend, and her husband. Yet God still cares and is beyond merciful.

Golden Age

970 BCE

Solomon gets a ton of gold and spices for being smart. Everybody is impressed and silver is garbage.

King David dies

970 BCE

After a long and prosperous life, David dies. But, not before giving his throne to Solomon.

Solomon acquires wisdom.

961 BCE

God grants Solomon one wish, and he chose wisdom. Because of that, Solomon gets blessed.

Rehoboam is born

950 BCE

After Solomon dies, his son Rehoboam takes over. Under his rule would be many lessons to be learned.

Solomon builds the Temple

941 BCE

The most expensive and expansive construction project is begun. It takes about 13 years to complete.

Rehoboam's mistake

927 BCE

Rehoboam listens to his young and dumb advisors instead of his father's. Instead of lightening up on taxes, he weighs down and gets everyone to hate him.

Jeroboam's Golden calves

926 BCE

Jeroboam builds Shechem and golden calves. He does a lot of pagan stuff till a prophet comes corrects him.

Jeroboam dies

905 BCE

Jeroboam dies after 22 years. I don't know why this guy was important at all, but apparently he was.

Ahab is born

840 BCE

The terrible king of Israel is born. He is one of the worst kings.

Ahab goes to war

827 BCE

Ahab fights Syria. Through the events, Ahab doesn't win.

Ahab takes Naboth's vineyard

825 BCE

He is so selfish that he mopes around until his evil wife takes action against Naboth, and condemns him to death.

Elisha fills up the dry bed's through God

815 BCE

Elisha talks to the king of Israel but he doesn't really like him. Nevertheless God has mercy on him and he gives him victory.

Elisha makes the oil overflow.

810 BCE

The widow comes to him and asks for his advice. Elisha made the oil keep appearing until she sold off her debts.

Ahab dies

800 BCE

Ahab falls in battle, even though he was forewarned.

Jehoram is born

795 BCE

Judah's future king is born, but he doesn't lead in the ways of the Lord, but rather at his own leisure and pleasure.

Jehoash rules

730 BCE

Jehoash does what is right in the sight of the Lord because of the High Priests' guidance.

Joash is born

720 BCE

Joash, the soon to be youngest king of Israel is born. His childhood is somewhat tragic, but God uses him greatly.

Amaziah reigns

700 BCE

Among the lineage, there was Amiaziah. And I guess he was simply so-so.

Azariah

700 BCE

Was an ancient Israel king. He did important things.

Zechariah

686 BCE

He wasn't a good king because he sinned and did what his fathers did. He was killed.

Shallum

685 BCE

We don't know if he was good or bad because he was killed after ruling for only a month.

Pekihiah

675 BCE

Not a cool dude. Killed by his captain with 50 people. Guess they really didn't like him.

Pekah

652 BCE

He did evil in the sight of the Lord, just like everyone else. But he did a lot of stuff before he died.

Jotham

650 BCE

He ruled while his father, Pekah did as well. He was actually a good king.

Ahaz

617 BCE

He sinned and was probably the worst. He did human sacrifices which is not cool.

Hoshea

612 BCE

Wasn't cool, like a lot of other kings. He captured Samirai.

Hezekiah gets sick

590 BCE

At the end of his life (or so it seems) he gets sick but God heals him and gives him 15 more years for David's sake.

Hezekiah dies

575 BCE

God gives him 15 extra years, but eventually those years end and he dies.

Manasseh reigns

570 BCE

Manasseh begins his 55 year reign, and he did a lot of evil stuff. Including sacrifices, and witchcraft.

Amon is born

535 BCE

Manasseh's son is born. There isn't anything really special about him.

Manasseh dies

525 BCE

He did a lot of bad stuff, and God exacted judgement on him.

Amon's death

517 BCE

Amon dies. His servants conspired against him, but the peasants killed those guys, making themselves no better.
