Safety Technology in Vehicles

  • Seatbelts

    Seatbelts
The seat belt is a safety harness designed to keep you from flying through the windshield of a car when stopping abruptly, or in the event of an accident. They also reduce the risk that you will collide with the steering wheel or dashbaord.
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

    Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
An antilock brake system prevents a vehicle’s wheels from locking during hard braking, which allows the driver to maintain steering control to avoid collision.
  • Airbags

    Airbags
Airbags are a type of automobile safety restraint like seatbelts. They are gas-inflated cushions built into the steering wheel, dashboard, door, roof, or seat of your car that use a crash sensor to trigger a rapid expansion to protect you from hitting the dashboard, steering wheel, and windshield. Side air bags reduce the risk that occupants will hit the door or objects that crash through it.
  • Traction Control System (TCS)

    Traction Control System (TCS)
Traction Control is designed to prevent loss of traction from the drive wheels when excessive throttle is applied by the driver, and the condition of the road surface is unable to cope with the torque applied.
  • Electronic Stability Control

    Electronic Stability Control
Electronic stability control is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers. Electronic stability control senses when a vehicle is starting to spin out (oversteer) or plow out (understeer), and it automatically applies the brake to a single wheel.
