There's going to be a lot of Nintendo in this timeline, but they just kept on leading. The Super Nintendo now supporting 16 bit graphics allowing there games to be doubles the quality as the previous and being able to hold more with each cartridge. -

With Nintendo now in the era of 3D gaming what could they do to make themselves stand out. Other than great and memorable games the N64 allowed up to 4 people to play and enjoy their games. with party games being their priority around this time -

The Wii's goal was the be capable of almost anything from browsing the web and having weather and news on it alongside to motion controls and impressive graphics making it the most generally like console being able to have something for everyone of all ages. Everyone wanted a Wii when it came out at one point being sold out everywhere for quite some time. Though around this time it was a competition with Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation for best console. -

At this point each console that came out where more of just going for best and most realistic graphics alongside Nintendo and the PlayStation all of them where similar in their function and was more about their games. while still impressive the home console is kind of still around this point as time continues.

I add this because it stands out from the others that this functions both as a handheld and a home console. which the consoles on the side can be removed. Nintendo what people to be able to enjoy their games wherever they go doing so well that it even surpassed the Wii.
