After two months theTabacco seeds were large enough to transplant. Each Tabacco was set in a mound to make sure it has plenty of space.

Late in the summer, the Tobacco was harvested. There was alot of Tobacco. As many as 8 stocks were placed on a stakes. Stakes were hung in barns to dry for six to ten weeks.

Tobacco was packed inside barrels called hogsheets. Workers rolled the hogsheets down road that became know as "rolling roads." The hogsheets were loaded into ships and sold to England.
