    Shackleton tries to reach the south pole, they get too sick and have to turn back

    Douglas Mawson, Alistair McKay and David Edgeworth reach the south magnetic pole

  • Amundsen gets there first

    Roald Amundsen from Norway with 4 others reach teh south pole, it only took 57 days. They beat Robert Scotts team and leave them a flag

    Scotts team arrive and find they have been beaten to the South Pole, they all die on the way home.
