    Two men named Alan Newell and Herbet Simon create the very first "Expert System" known as the logic theorist used to help solve difficult math problems. The machine was controlled by hand with a purpose to calculate issues.

  • The Birth of the Industrial Arm

    The Birth of the Industrial Arm
    The first industrial robot arm known as the Unimate is created to complete dangerous and repetitive jobs on a conveyer velt for the industrial industry. The robot was made to pick up/remove items and was controlled from a control panel able to rotate its movement.

    The MH-1 Mechanical hand is developed at MIT by a man named Heinrich Ernst. The MH-1 was operated by a TX-O Computer and was made to explore the feasibility of direct relations between a digital computer and the physical world.

    Victor Scheinman creates his own company called the Silver arm selling new robots that are able to assemble small parts because of touch sensors. The robot controlled itself with the sensors as it could feel the quantity and size of the piece it was assembling and did not have to be manually controlled.

    Takeo Kanade makes robots with engines inbuilt to the joints of the arm making the robot much more accurate and faster then previous models. The robot functions automatically unless manually controlled from a panel, its purpose was to manufacture parts quicker to improve buisness.

    The Mobile Robotics Group at MIT unveil a walking robot known as Genghis. Genghis had no purpose in the industrial industry and was created as a mobile testing prototype, it was controlled via remote.

    Tiger electronics released Furby- a toy that operates automatically when pressed according to its surroundings. The Robots purpose was to bring enjoyment on an electronic level to children

    In 2000 the first robotic surgeon was approved by the FDA for general laparoscopic surgery. This robot was controlled via computer and its purpose was in the general health industry to assist in surgery.

    LEGO enters a world of Robotics creating their first constructable robot thats purpose is to follow a code. This robot was controlled via a control panel on the front of the main console and through a computer using coding.
