For 7 years of spring training, Roberto and his other black teammates were excluded from activities. after he tried to eat with his team and the waiter said they don't serve blacks he said “That’s okay. I don’t eat Negroes". when their teammates went into a restaurant they had to wait on the bus. after they weren't able to do a fun activity with the white teammates he demanded that they gave him a station wagon so they can go and get food from a restaurant.(3) -

after a speech, Martin Luther King Jr gave, Martin Luther King Jr went to Puerto Rico and he stayed at Clemente's farm. they talked about racism and all other problems that blacks had at that time. they said he is more likely to talk about racism than he is to talk about baseball (His career).(1) -

4 days after Martin Luther King Jr assassination it was opening day for the MLB but because of all the rebellions because of his death a lot of teams have postponed their games but they didn't have any rebellions so they would still play. Roberto told his teammates he isn't going to play.(1) -
Roberto Clement's Death
after an earthquake hit Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Roberto Clemente sent some supplies but they got taken by the government in Nicaragua. so Clemente got on a plane with the supplies so that he could make sure that it makes it there safe. but he didn't know that the plane was overloaded and the plane crashed shortly after takeoff. -
