    Robert is born. He lives in San Fransisco. His father, William Prescott Jr. is the editor of a magazine and his mother, Isabelle Moodie is an active member of the Swedenborgian church.

    Robert's father died as a result of health complications because of his alcoholism, which also caused Isabelle to develop depression. The family, left poor, moves ionto a farm in Lawrence, Mass.

  • Frost enters Lawrence High School

  • Frost writes his first poem "La Noche Triste"

    The poem is published in the school's magazine.

  • Frost graduates from Lawrence High School

    He graduates as valedictorian with his future wife Elinor White.

  • Enrolls in Dartmouth College

    He enters but leaves before the end of term.

  • For the next year, Frost takes on various odd jobs

    He teaches in local schools and works in the mills.

  • Publishes first poem, "My Butterfly: An Elegy"

    The poem is published by the New York Independent for $15.

  • Marries Elinor White

    Has been working as a school teacher and after a previous rejection, Frost marries his highschool sweetheart.
