  • The Petition of Rights

    The Petition of Rights
    Petition contains restrictions on non-Parliamentary taxation, forced boarding of soldiers, imprisonment without cause, and restricts the use of martial law. It was signed by Charles 1
  • English Bill of Rights

    English Bill of Rights
    Charles I, Parliament in 1628 adopted the Petition of Right, condemning unlawful imprisonments and also providing that there should be no tax without common consent of parliament. It was signed by William and Mary.

Fort Necessity was contructed. The relationship between the brittish and us became better and then they taxed us on everything.

    Implemented harsh taxes upon the colonists in exchane to pay for the French and Indian War and making the lives of the brittish better.
  • Stamp Act

    This tax made colonists pay tax on every type of printed paper they used. Which included but was not limited to: Legal licences, playing cards, newsaper, and other publications. the colonists adopted the Patrick Henry Resolves that states that colonists have the same rights as brittish.
  • Boston Massacre

    In winter of 1770 some colononists began throwing rocks and snowballs at some brittish gaurds. The gaurds then open fired at the crowd killing five including a black man named Crispus Attucks. The Stamp acts and the Townshend acts were being enforced at the tiume.

    The Sons of Liberty organized this event, and the brittish retorted with the tea act
  • First Continential Congress

    Every state except for Georgia sent delagates. Some major players were Col. George Washington, Patrick Henry, and Col. Benjamin Harrison. They ended up drafting the Declaration of Independence. It too place in Carpenter's Hall in Pennsylvainia.

    Brittan passed these acts because of the boston tea party. These acts made criminals be tried in England, and put a curfew on Boston.

    It happened in Philidephia, Pennsylvania. The idea of the American Constitution.The leaders were Ben Franklin, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson.

    These conflicts started the American Revolution. The brittish were commanded under Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith,and saved by Brigadier General Hugh Percy, while the colonists were led byBarrett, Buttrick, Robinson and many others. Paul Revere, William Dawes rode to warn nerby villagers about the advaancing Brittish troops.

    Benjamin Franklin represented the U.S.A in the signing. All the land to the east of the Mississippi River became part of the United States. The Brittish finally recognized the DEclaration of Independence.

    At the Annapolis Convention, the Virgina and the New Jersey Plans were pitched. It's original purpose was to revise the Articles of Confederation.
