    The magna Carta was signed by King John in a meadow at runnymede in eagham, Surrey, South England. The magna carta gave the rights to do process.

    The Mayflower compact was a social contract in which settlers consented to follw the compacts rules and regulations for sake of survival.
  • Petition of Rights

    The rights granted under this petition were Non-Parlimentary taxation,forced billeting of soldiers, imprisonment without cause, and Restriction of Martial Law. Charles the first signed this document.
  • English Bill Of Rights

    English Bill Of Rights
    William and Mary were the people involved in signing the english bill of rights. The rights given to the people gave personal freedom and limited the power in judicial and reserved power to the states and public.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Albany Plan of Union
    Ben Franklin was the man who suggested the Albany PLan of Union, which never ended up actually happening. The popular political cartoon associated with this plan was created by Ben Franklin and it was called " Join or Die".
  • French and Indian War 1756-63

    The French and Indian War was fought primarily between Great Britian and France. Some major battles include the Battle of Signal Hill and the Battle of Fort Necessity. The British ultimately won the French and Indian War. After the war there was greater amnosity between the American colonies and Britian because Britian started to enforce more policies so they could get more funds to repair damage from the war.

    As a result of the French and Indian war 13 colonies broke away from the British empire and formed the United States of Amerca. He implimented taxes on the people which paid for the war, causing the break away.

    The stamp act produced taxes among printed materials such as newspapers, legal documents, magazines and many other types of paper. The stamp act created great resistance in the colonies. This led to many colonies refusing to send represenatives to Parliment.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    During the Boston Massacre 5 civilians were killed. The Protest aimed for british troops to leave Boston. The Boston Massacre was result of many officials attempting to enforce unpopular Parlimentary legislation.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Sons of LIberty in Boston were the political group that organized the event. The British passed the Intolerable Acts which closed the Boston Ports and destroyed the Massachusetts government.
  • First Continental Congress

    There were twelve colonies that attended the continental congress. Patrick Henry was one of the major personalities involved in the continental congress. This meeting took place at Carpenters' Hill in Philadelphia. The congress accomplished a compact among the colonies to boycott British goods, and they also provided for a second continental congress.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were laws passed in response to the Boston Tea Party. The acts denied Massachusetts of self-government and historic rights. These laws triggered outbreak and resistance in the thirteen colonies.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The battles of Lexington and Concord led to the outbreak of open armed conflict between Great Britian and the thirteen colonies. Many important generals included Paul Revere, John Hancock, Thomas Gage, and Sam Adams. Paul Revere was one of the american generals who is most famously known for alerting the Colonial militia to approach British forces before lexington and concord. In the end, the Americans came out victorious.

    It took place in Philadelphia PA. The idea to take freedom from Britain was heavily approched at this meeting. The Colonial leaders involved were Tommy Boy Jeffereson, Big Ben Franklin, Jonny Hot Fire Adams, and George Washington

    The Treaty of Paris
    The US representitives for the signing of the Treaty of Paris were Ben Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay. The new land boundries were From The Great Lakes North to Florida South and From The Atlantic Ocean east to The Mississippi River West. From this Treaty being signed Britain finally realized that America would be tearing away from their control.
  • Articles of Confederation

    Articles of Confederation
    The first President to sign under the articles would be John Hanson.
  • Start of Constitututional Convention

    There was a meeting of 12 delegates from 5 states, and the meeting was originally set up as and a unanimousn Constitutional Convention. The purpose was to remedy defects of the federal Government.
