    The British just finshed fighting the French. As a result England had a massive war debt to pay so they taxed the colonist. This leads Ben Franklin to make the Albany Plan of Union.

    The Proclamation of 1763
    The King wants to protect the colonist from encoming invaders and the enemy's around them. He banned them from settling west of the applillation mountains. The colonist widely ignored this because it was impossible for the British to enforce.

    This is when the king of england put a tax on sugar and molasses and other things. This was a harsh punishment for smugglers. The colonist boycotted british goods.     The colonist had to put an additional stamp for documents like wills, contracts, newspapers and even playing cards. The colonists thought this was an unfair tax that they had no input. So they demanded it be repealed! What the colonist did because of this act was to burn stamped papper, held the Stamp Act at the Congress, and they would tar and feather British soldiers.

    The Coercive/Intolorable acts were when Britian closed the Port of Boston until the tea is paid for. Then Britian moved all trials to England. They also banned all town meetings so that the Colonists couldn't put together another plan of protest. Just to anger the colonist, the British strengthened the Quartering Act.
