    The French and Indian war
    The French Indian war was caused when both Indians and settlers fought over land (Ohio). Both groups wanted power over North America and were willing to fight for it. The war ended in 1763 when they had a peace treaty and split up the land.

    The Proclamation of 1763
    To end the French Indian war, the French and the Indians split up the land of North America and agreed to have peace. This was the proclamation of 1763.
  • The sugar act

    The sugar act
    The sugar act was an act that Britain passed that the colonies would be taxed when buying sugar. The act was passed because the British were in major debt after the war. This tax issue made the colonists very upset.

    The stamp act was when the British published an act that all paper in the colonies would be taxed. The paper that was bought had to have a stamp that showed the taxes on the paper had been payed which was also taxed because that stamp was taxed too.

    The Townshend act of 1767 was when the British signed an act that would tax the colonies for glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. These taxes made the colonies extremely upset.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was when a group of boys were provoking nine British soldiers. The boys threw show balls at them and harassed them. The soldiers started shooting at them. A dozen of the boys died. The colonies were not happy about this at all.

    The tea act was when the British published taxes on tea for the colonists. The colonies are getting very upset about this.

    This is when the Colonies are sick of the unjust taxes. A group of boys called the sons of liberty sneak onto a British ship containing Bags of tea and dumped them all out. They dumped around a million dollars worth of tea into the ocean.

    The intolerable acts were a group of laws set by the British to punish the Massachusetts colonies for dumping millions of dollars worth of tea into the ocean.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    This was the first meeting that congress had, with 12 of the 13 original colonies. This is when the United states of America was created.
