  • Treaty of Paris

    Ended the war between France and Great Britain causing the French to give up all of its territories in North America which ended any military threat Great Britain had in North America.
  • Proclamation Act

    Attracted British Settlers to Canada because it made British laws and culture apply to Canada.
  • The sugar act

    Increase revenue from the 13 colonies and lower the tax on molasses. Any sugar and molasses imported into the colonies was not taxed.
  • The Stamp Act

    Required the American Colonists to pay tax on every piece of printed paper they used.
  • The Quartering Act

    This Act required that any colonist had to provide food and shelter to any British soldiers that needed it.

    The first real congressional meeting in American History to setup a protest against British taxation.

    These Acts by Britain where intended to raise the pay of the governors and judges to keep them loyal to Britain.
  • Boston Massacre

    This is what sparked the American Revolution. After tension built between British troops and the colonist the British troops ended up firing upon the colonist and killing 8 men.

    A meeting of 12 delegates from the 13 colonies in response to the Intolerable Acts.

    These were laws passed by the British parliament to punish those who threw all of the tea into the harbor.
