Tea Act
The Tea Act was set up so it would raise taxes on the tea that was shipped to the colonies. This was also desgined to hit up the east india company which was floundering finacially and burdened with 18 million pounds of unsold tea. -
Boston Tea Party
This was a direct action by the Boston colonists. After officals in Boston refused to return the three ships of taxed tea to britian a group of colonists boarded all three ships and and destroyed all the tea by throwing it in the boston harbor. -
Decleration of Independence
This is a document that annouced the thirteen colonies regarded themsleves as independent states and no longer by the British Empire. John Hancock was the first person to ever sign the Decleration of independence and George Washington was the first ever president to sign the prestiges document.
