The Stamp Act was a law that the British government followed. The Stamp Act means that all legal documents and printed papers used in the American colonies had to have an official stamp. -

This is America's first constitution. All though it was written in 1777, it would not be officially approved until 1781. All 13 colonies had to approve. Maryland would be the last state to sign off.
