Ian rode his first horse Socks when he was ten years of age. then started working for the owners of Socks and his stablemate Flicka. Thus his love of horses and riding began.

He met his wife Lyn after he graduated college. and married her in 69. they had their two children in the 70`s Jonathon and Amy.

Ian was souted when riding in copetition and asked to join the Canadain Equestrian Team, he agreed. Ian Millar is still on that team to this day.
