    This Supreme Court case ruled that all free and non free african americans were not and would not ever be considered United States citizens. It also said that slavery was permitted in all of the United States territories.

    John Wilks Booth shot President Abraham Lincoln, while at a play at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. This happened only five days after the Civil War was effectively ending.

    This courtcase took place in Topeka, Kansas. It declared the separation of whites and blacks unconstitutional. The decision overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson case.

    Joseph McCarthy, a Repulican Senator from Wisconsin who was against the United States Army and Communism. He went to court for trying to pressure an Army personel into doing what he wanted, and he later went to court for it in April of 1954.

    This court case ruled that defendants will be appointed a lawyer if they cannot afford one themselves. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Gideon unanimously.

    In the early morning, a couple of buglars were arrested outside the Democratic Nation Committee. The burglars were connected to President Richard Nixon's reelection committee. Ford later pardoned Nixon for this event.

    Paul Jones sues the President for sexual harrassment with Monica Lewinsky. Monica was a 21 year old intern at the White House. On February 12, the Senate voted on whether to remove the President from office or not. It ended up split.

    This was a devastating event the United States history. Two planes were taken over by Al Queda terrorist who then crashed them into the World Trade Center. Both towers collapsed.
