    Rhode Island Discovred
    On January 1, 1524 an Italian exporer, Giovannida Verrazzano, spotted a triangle-shaped island in the Atlanic Ocean. He thought that the small area of land looked like Rhodes, an island in greece that he had explored. Since the land that he had found reminded him of Rhodes and it was an island it only made since to call this island Rhode Island.

    World War 2 started in 1939 and ended in 1945, but it wasn't intill 1941 that Rhode Island joined the war. More than 92,000 Rhode Islanders were in the war and many of them got killed. It was a very sad time.
