  • Boston massacre

    This massacre was one of the major reasons the war even started due to how the colonist felt after ( angry ). there were only 5 casualties one of them being a man named Crispus Attucks who soon after became a anti- slavery icon to many.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was in retaliation to the sugar act that taxed goods like tea. The sons of liberty decided to dress- up as Native Americans and dump all the tea off the ships at the harbor.
  • First Conteinental Congress

    A meeting was held that had 12/13 colonies congressmen meet together. Some congressmen there include George Washington, Patrick Henry, and Samuel Adams.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Known as the shot herd from around the world Lexington and Concord was the first "battle" of the war.
  • Declaration of Independence

    In Phillidelphia, Ph Thomas Jefferson and other founding fathers wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence to declare freedom from England.
  • Battle of Trenton

    In Trenton, NJ George Washington captured 2/3 of german solders (hessians) which boosted the morale of solders.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    In Saratoga, NY The British surrendered which was the turning point for the war. This battle also convinced the French and Spanish to help the colonists fight. Which would soon introduce Marquis de Lafayette to the war.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    In Yorktown, VA the last battle of the war took place. This battle also highlights a bunch of key players in the war like George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Marquis de Lafayette.
  • Surrender at Yorktown

    At Yorktown, VA Lord Cornwallis surrenderd at Yorktown and was a really sore loser.
  • Treaty of paris

    As in the title this treaty was held in Paris, France and it officially ended the war. Ben Franlkin and John Adams signed this treaty.
