    The Treaty of Paris was a treaty that ended the French and Indian/ Seven Years War. This treaty gave Britian all of North America east of the Mississippi River.

    The Procemation line of 1763 was a proclamation from King George III forbidding all settlers from settling past the border of the Appalachian Mountains. This line was needed because it prevented conflicts between colonists and the Native Americans who lived in the land beyond the colonists border.

    British Acts apon the Colonies

    The Stamp Act taxed all printed paper items to raise money to protect the land west of the Appalachian Mountains. The Sugar Act made colonial merchants pay a tax on the importation of molasses. The Quartering Act made colonists provide housing for British soldiers. The Townshend Acts were made so the American colonists had to pay taxes on British imports such as tea, paints, glass, ink and dyes. Lastly, the Intolerable Acts were laws made after the Boston Tea Party to punish the colonists.

    The Boston Massacre occured on March 5, 1770 when British soldiers after being pelted with rocks and sworn at, killed and injured over 5 colonists. The soldiers were then taken away and those who shot were punished by being branded and thrown in jail.

    On December 16, 1773 the colonists defied the British and threw 342 chests of tea overboard into the Boston Harbor. They did this because of the unfair taxation of British imports on the colonists at the time. The Intolerable Acts followed this event to punish the colonists.

    Delegates from every colony except for Georgia met starting on September 5, 1774 at Carpenters Hall in Philidelphia. They met to discuss the boycott of British goods, rights and complaints that they later adressed in a letter to King George III to make a change.

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle during the American Revolutionary War. IT was fought on April 19, 1775. British troops marched from Boston to concord to seize weapons but their plans were overheard and the colonists then attacked the British and war broke out.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was the first attack by colonists toward the British who were coming to seize Boston. It was considered a British victory even though the British lost 1,100 soldier and the colonists only lost 300 patriots.

    Second Continental Congress wrote the Olive Branch Petition to the King of England in attempt to declare independence but avoid complete war. The king refused to read it and the colonists were upset.

    Common Sense was a phamplet written by Thomas Paine and published on January 10, 1776. It was written to declare and fight for independence from Britain. It gave colonists reasons to declare indepedence and was widely read and sold.

    The American Crisis was a series of pamphlets written by Thomas Paine during the American Revolution to inspire the colonists. There were sixteen total pamphlets published, the first published December 23, 1776 and they were written in a language that everyone would understand.

    During the winter of 1776 Geroge Washington suprise attacks both Trenton and Princeton Christmas night. 1,400 mercinaries were caotured. The attack boosted the American morale.

    Battles at Camden, Kings Mountain, and Cowpens were all battles fought in the south of the thirteen colonies. The Battle of Camden fought August 16, 1780, was a British victory but both the Battle of Kings Mountain which was fought October 7, 1780, and Cowpens fought January 17, 1781, were American victories.

    The Battle of Yorktown took place on October 19, 1781 in Yorktown, Virginia. The Patriots hit British with heavy artillery and the British had no where to escape so they surrendered at Yorktown. This served as and ending to the American Revolutionary War.
