Where I got the infoThe proclamation forbid settlers form settling anywhere past the Appilation Mountians.
Signifigance: This made the the colinists' angry at King George the third. -
Boston Massacre
The boston massacre was brought about because of Bostoinans throwing snowballs at the red coat soldiars. They fired at the people, killing five. The jusy found them, not guilty. Because it was self defense. Only two soldiars were convicted for acidental killing. Britian was calm for awhile after.
Signifigance: It 'started' the Revolutionary war. -
Boston Tea Party
Patriots dressed as Idians and boarded the ship carrying Tea. Because they were angry with the Tea act they dumped all the tea into the Boston harbor which lead to the Intolarable acts.
Signifigance: This angered the king. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
Paul Revere and others road to Lexington the warn that Red Coats were coming to steal rebel supplies. Paul Revere was captured in Concord, so Prescott continued to Lexinton alone. 40 minute men got ready and waited for the british. The Rebels won!
Significance: Because it was the first major battle. -
Battle of Bunker hill
It was an early battle in the Revolutionary war. It was actually fought on Breed's hill.
Signifigance: It was an early victory for the patriots. -
Olive Branch petition
It was an attempt to stop a full war between the Red Coats and the colonists. But in August it was rejected.
Significance: It postponed the war until August. -
Declaration of independance
The declaration of independance was written to the british to tell them that we were breaking off and becoming our own country.
Significance: It declared our freedom! -
Common Sense
Thomas Paine, the writer, published 'Common Sense', this drove the colonists' to fight and declare they're feedom.
Signifiganc: This made the colonists' want to fight. -
Battle at Princeton
The british were trying to finish off the patriot army. The gaurded the Delaware river, thinking he'd come back the way he came. Instead he went around the british camp and met the british rear gaurd which they out numbered 5 to 1. They escaped and the Howe brothers left New Jersey to George Washington. -
Valley Forge
The winter of 1777 the rebels spent it in Vally Forge. People died of sickness, and starvation. The elements were against them and the number of soldiars was low. But by the time they had a new reason to fight, more soldiars, and more supplies.
Signifigance: They survived and were ready to fight. -
Battle of Saratoga
The battle took place on September 19th and October 17th just 9 miles south of Saratoga, New York. This battle decided the fate of British General John Burgoyne's army in the Revolutionary War.
Signifigance: It is generally regarded as a turning point in the war. -
Battle of Yorktown
It was a vicorty for the Rebels, wh were fighting the battle with the help of the French.
Signifigance: It was another victory for the Americans. -
Tready of Paris 1783
This ended the revolutionary war between the Americans and the British. Oher agreements were laid out with America's allies like the French.
