    The five most beautiful rice terraces today are the Longji Rice terrace, the Yuanyang rice terrace, the Jiabang rice terrace, the Yunhe rice terrace, and the Ziquejie rice terrace.

    The Great Wall Of China was constructed during the MIng Dynasty by soldiers and convicts. Many of them were built into the wall as it was built. The wall was essentially built because of safety concerns. It stretches through several habitats, most of them are small mountain ranges.

    China is the worlds largest rice producer and consumer. The Chinese cross-pollinated to create varity. This increased agrucultural production led to the Green Revolution (1960). By the year 2000 there were thousands of varieties of rice.

    Strip mining is the removal of soil and rock (overburden) above a layer or seam (particularly coal) followed by removal of the exposed mineral. Strip- mined mineral deposits that become uneconomical to mine are typically abandoned. Drilling and blasting is not required therefore it is better for the environment because low levels of dust are generated, there is less noise pollution and there are no vibrations.

    The Three Gorges Dam is the worlds largest hydroelectric dam (completed in 2006). It was supported by the Chinese officials for financial benefits but was opposed by environmentalists, historians and human rights activists because of the flooding of the dam on villages along the river. The work for this dam was delayed by 40 years since their were so many problems. This was one of the largest engineering projects in china.
