When modeling the path of a projectilve with a quadratic equation the x-intercepts of the quadratic equation are the places where the projectile has a height of zero, meaning it would be at ground level. Algebraically, the x-intercepts of a quadratic equation can be found by setting the equation equal to zero and solving the equation by factoring. The solutions you get for the equation are the same as the times at which the projectile takes off and lands. -
