    Named B because it is a modified version of BCPL.

  • PASCAL

    Named after the French mathematician Blaise Pascal.

    It was called C because it was a modified version of B.

    ML comes from the word "Metalanguage"

    Originally called SEQUEL or Structured English Query Language.

    Was named Ada after the first programmer, Ada Lovelance.
