    Save Our Surf (SOS)
    John Kelly with Protege George Downing formed the first group dedicated to preserving surf spots and the oceans. SOS had 3 simple concepts, Respect the intelligence of people, get facts to them, help the people develop and implement an action program. Their accomplishments later helped form more groups to help save our oceans. SOS is also credited with nearly 140 surfing sites and halting numerous environmentally damaging projects from occurring.

This organization was founded when a group of volunteers sailed to an area North of Alaska to share the U.S. government's underground testing of nuclear materials. Greenpeace pays attention to global environmental problems.

    Founded in 1972, this organization has been fighting to promote healthy and diverse ocean ecosystems. This organization focuses on global warming, fish farming, trash cleanups, and marine wildlife protection throughout the United States.

    This organization is dedicated to the protection of ocean life, for present and future generations. This program's main goal is to observe information about the ocean ecosystem, and share knowledge with the public about how to help the ocean environment.

    This organization uses direct action to stop illegal actions in oceans and protect marine life. This foundation was founded in 1977 by Paul Watson. It is dedicated to ending the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the oceans to preserve and protect ecosystems and species.

    This organization (SAS) was formed in 1990 by local surfers who were getting ill from sewage in the oceans. SAS campaigns for clean and safe recreational waters. They focus on six main areas: sewage, marine litter, climate change, toxic chemicals, shipping, and protecting the recreational wave resource.

    In 1991 in the Iraq and Iran war when saddam was being beaten badly in the war he commanded his troops to retreat, and while they were doing so he commanded his troops to set 700 Kuwaiti oil wells on fire. He also commanded them to spill millions of oil into the Persian Gulf creating the world's largest environmental disaster.
