  • The Battle of Trafalgar Square

    The ABAPTF called a national demonstration Trafalgar Square in 1990. 200,000 Protesters turned up.
    The calm protest turned into a riot later in the day and 341 people were arrested. 542 Police Officers were injured. No official record of how many protesters were injured but the number was in the thousands.

  • Margaret Thatcher was replaced by John Major

    Thatcher was replaced by Major as Prime Minister.

  • Major announced end of Poll Tax

    Major announced that the poll tax would be replaced by the Council Tax in 1993. Protests continued until 1993 when the Poll Tax changed.
