The suppression of traffic in narcotics has emerged in the last two years as a fast-growing problem for the State Police. In fact, there were no cases of illegal possession of drugs reported to the State Police.

    One case of excessive force was the brutal 1991 beating of Rodney King by five LAPD officers. A videotape captured most of the brutality and also showed several other officers standing by and doing nothing to stop the pummeling of a defenseless black man.

    On April 27, 2015, violence and charges of police brutality struck the City of Baltimore when a young black man dies of injuries he suffered while in a van in police custody. Violence surrounded the City and several Police Officers were charged for the crime. Police Brutality has been on the increase for several years.
