  • Pocahontas was born 1596 and named "Amonute"

    She also had the name of "Matoaka". She gained the nickname , which meant playful because of her personality.

  • The rescue of John Smith by Pocahontas.

    When the english arrived in Jamestown, Pocahontas was around 11 years old. Pocahontas would not encounter english men until the winter when she met captain John Smith. Where he was captured and she had saved him.

  • Pocahontas marries Kocoum

    He was a private captain. He was not part of the tribe or high in title so Pocahontas married him for love.

  • Pocahontas was not in any english accounts

    which changed when Samuel Argail discovered she was living with the Patawomeck.

  • Pocahontas divorced Kocoum

    After she had been kidnapped, it turned into an inevitable situation

  • John Rolfe and Pocahontas get married.

    She had divorced with her tribal ways from her previous husband and now marries John Rolfe.

    Where he refuses to let her call him father which angers her and makes her remind him how she had hurt everyone but her.

    The rolfe family was ready to return to virginia. However, after traveling down the Thames river, she had to be taken ashore and later died of an unspecified illness. Pocahontas, age 21, was buried March 21, 1617. Later after, The peace of pocahontas began to unravel. Life for her people could never remain the same.

    As well as she was baptized "Rebecca"
