    Pittsburgh Penguin debut
    On the debut of their first game the team wore this dark blue, light blue, and white jersey. The home jersey was white and the white jersey was light blue with just the name "Pittsburgh" diagonal on the jersey. The logo that is not on the sweater was a penguin in a scarf over a upside down triangle which symbolized the point of Pittsburgh.

    The following season after the debut of the club the uniforms were changed now with the logo on front of the jersey. The logo now did not have the scarf on the penguin. The colors of the jersey were essentially the same but just solid, there was no lines going through the blue parts of the jersey.

    Four years later the jerseys were changed without the circle around the penguin and the triangle. The colors remained the same although there was some more color added to certain spots on the jersey. The jersey pictured was the team's away jersey.

    For the first time the Penguins wore the black and gold. The Penguins did not have a lot of fan support at this time so with the Steelers and the Pirates both winning their respective championships the Penguins team thought that if they shared the color of the other champions it could bring the fans in.

    With the Boston Bruins club team protesting the Penguins new colors saying that those colors have always been theirs, the Penguins came out on top of the ordeal thanks to the Pirates who claimed the colors back in 1920. The uniforms designs stayed the same as the blue and black ones but just with the new colors in place.

    In 1995-96 season the Penguins were only one of the five teams who had a 3rd alternate jersey. The Penguins ended up using the alternate jersey has there main away jersey and got rid of the previous away jersey all together. This time the colors were black, yellow, and white.

    The penguins got new jersey designs all together the 2007-2008 season apart of the Reebok edge system. These new jerseys were more breathable and more resistant to water, and just all around more comfortable for the player. The gold in the jersey was not as bold as the previous jersey.

    On January 1st 2011 the penguins debuted their Winter Classic jersey which is worn for the game that is taken place outside. The jersey was dark blue and light blue, with the orginial Penguin with the scarf on the logo.

    On March 1st 2014 the Penguins played the Chicago Blackhawks at Soldier Field apart of the new NHL's series of games that would be held outside in stadiums. The jersey was a shiny reflective gold black and white.

    In the latest season the penguins added a new 3rd alternate jersey to their lineup. This new jersey is to pay tribute to the jersey that Mario Lemieux once sported. It sports the old fashion gold that the old jersey once sported.
