    It is important to mention one of the many focuses of Kuhn's book the The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, the thesis of the theory-dependence of observation. This contributes to the philosophy of science that how one person may perceive an event can differ from another from prior beliefs and experiences. An example that is given is how Galileo and an Aristotelian both were looking at the same thing but explained different things. (Bird, 2018)
  • The Structure of Scientific Revolutions

    Kuhn firsts work that was published in 1962 in the International Encyclopedia of Unified Science. This book made a massive impact in Philosophy of Science, it demonstrated that "the development of science is driven, in normal periods of science, by adherence to what Kuhn called a ‘paradigm’." (Bird, 2018) This book was a major step in adding new theories to Philosophy of Science, and also opened many other doors for more theories to form.
  • The Second Edition of The Structure of Scientific Revolutions

    In the second addition of Kuhn's book he addresses his use of the term paradigm. As well as explains the idea of a paradigm as an "exemplar or model of puzzle solving". (Bird, 2018) It is also important to note this in this work Kuhn explicitly denied the idea that theories could be regarded as more or less close to the truth. This second addition of his book was another great contribution to philosophy of science in many ways. It clarified his meanings and strengthened his terms.
  • The Incommensurability Thesis

    In Kuhn's work, the Incommensurability thesis is all about how certain kinds of translations are impossible. As well as trying to label the science done in two different paradigm shifts as good or bad science.
