    Bell-shaped figure was ideal at that time; huge lower half with tiny and flat chest.Amourlike coursets were often used to mkae their bottoms look bigger. However, round face wwere promoted as women appeared to have round face in old pictures. Clothes were reconized to mould their bodies to atrract women. Helath problems were caused by tight coursets and in some cases they had fainted because of breathing difficulty.

    Corsets were made by whalebones instead of iron which brought better feeling to the women.

    slenderness became fashionable, 'health corset was introduced to replace uncomfortable Edwardian corset. It created tiny waist and pushed the bust forward and hip back promoting the 'S' line. Body weight was reconized as science and women showed interest in athletics.
