He is named king by his father, the Duke of Favila, at 27 years old. -

The kingdom of Asturias
He founded the kingdom of Asturias, in 711 After Christ. Or, at least, his people, traditionally consider him as the founder of the kingdom of Asturias. -

He began the reconquest between 718 or 722. In the Battle of Covadonga. -

His marriage

His dead
King Don Pelayo died in Cangas de Onís, where he had his court, in 737. After his death, his corpse was buried in the church of Santa Eulalia de Abamia, located in the Asturian town of Abamia, where previously his wife, Queen Gaudiosa, had been buried. -

His sons
After his dead, his two children were born, Favila de Asturias(739) and Ermesdina.
Favila would be the sicesor to the kingdom.
