At Iconium unbelieving Jews stirred up many Gentiles, and the city was divided where some who were unbelieving planned to stone them. And Paul and Barnabas had to flee for Lystra and Derbe.

In Lystra Paul healed a cripple man from birth. The Lycaonians called Barnabas Zeus and Paul Hermes, and they attempted to create a sacrifice in honor of Zeus, but Paul and Barnabas stopped them from proclaiming the Lord. Paul was nearly stoned to death here.
